Things I learnt from building my gamma:

• it was hard to sew around the leading edge. Those curves are tricky, especially small curves at the tips of the kite.
• Sewing three sheets of material at the same time is hard work.

So this is the method I came up with:

• sew the top skin together
• sew bottom skin together
• attach top to bottom along the LE (start from center and work towards the tips)
• attach the ribs along the seams between the cells ( so you sew down through the rib seam, the seam of the cell (2 sheets of material) and the bottom skin).
• tip: make sure all the seams point to the center of the kite.
• tip: when sewing ribs to the top and bottom skins, sew from the leading edge towards the trailing edge for only a third of the rib. This gives you plenty of room to sew the next rib. When all of the ribs have been attached, you *must* go back and sew them in fully. I found this way of working much easier than sewing the whole rib in as it gives you plenty of room to jiggle the sewing machine in to the LE of the next rib.
• go back and sew the ribs in completely
• check that all of the ribs have vent holes in them
• attach the tip spars. Tricky.
• close the trailing edge.

I think sewing down the cell seam will have strengthened the kite against lateral forces, as each cell is sewn to is neighbour with two sets of stitches.

Of course, the dissadvantage of this method is that you sew down each cell twice, using twice as much thread and making twice as many holes in the material. The second line of stiches are out side the kite, so they can be damaged.
